The Receiving position is responsible for measuring the width of the coils when they come into the building in raw uncut form. They are also responsible for checking the gauge of the material using the micrometer. This position enters this data into the computer system and generates tags to be placed on the appropriate coils.
The Shipping position is required to pull and stage material according to the bill of lading and perform all dock audits to ensure the correct material is shipped to the customer. This position obtains proof of identity from carriers and obtains the appropriate signatures on the bills of lading.
This job entails driving the forklift through the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas. Additional duties require operating the overhead crane to move coils from slitter to packaging.
From time to time this position pulls mechanical properties on pieces of steel.
The shipping/receiving personnel is responsible for observing all safety rules and regulations.
